The 40RDT SE has been warming up really nicely over the past 8 weeks now. I've just compared it to my buddies earlier version of the 40RDT SE and mine is most definitely better. It is quite an achievement to design such a great model and actually make it a lot better. This trickery you use is scary !!!
I'm not considering keeping the VPI setup. My local dealer was so wrong with regards changing the turntable. Like you said... "your VPI is great, you just haven't heard it".
